Sid Smith is the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Ragan-Smith-Associates, Inc. and the remaining founding Partner of the firm. He joined the firm in 1971 after serving a tour of duty in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer in South Vietnam in 1966. Between his Army service and the time he joined Ragan-Smith, Sid worked with the Georgia Highway Department, the Army Corps of Engineers and Joel B. Spalding Company. Sid is one of the most respected engineers in the area having been responsible for a great number of residential and commercial developments in Middle Tennessee. He is currently responsible for executive management of all survey, landscape architecture, civil engineering, transportation, water resources, sanitary and storm sewer projects and takes an active role in the day-to-day technical aspects of many projects. Sid has served on the Williamson County Planning Commission and is active in the Brentwood Rotary Club and many Professional Associations. Sid is a Professional Engineer in seven states in the southeast region and a Registered Land Surveyor in the State of Tennessee.
