Ragan-Smith was the design consultant on several related projects in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Designs were developed to connect and enhance historic Spring Park, the historic downtown, Ivy Green (Helen Keller's birthplace), the Tennessee Valley Arts Center, the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind, and a new greenway system along Spring Creek. A master plan for the downtown area incorporated both aesthetic and transportation features including traffic signals, signage, pedestrian plantings, special light fixtures and street furniture for Spring Park. Ragan-Smith has been involved in the first phases of implementation of the Master Plan including preparation of construction plans for the streetscape improvements.
