Ragan-Smith prepared a master plan for the renovation of an existing 20+/- acre active recreation park within a historic neighborhood. The first phase of the design work included the reconfiguration of two parking lots adjacent to the community center, the addition of a multi-purpose athletic field, the layout of a playground area and the design of an overlook area. Existing walking trails were realigned, and new ones created, for better pedestrian interconnectivity and handicap accessibility within the park. Seating areas, also handicap accessible, were created in association with the playground and the overlook area, as well as several that were situated along the walking trails.
