Project Info

The North Gateway Corridor Study includes an evaluation of opportunities and constraints surrounding the re-alignment of Route 109 connecting a new interstate interchange to the city of Portland. Evaluation of the transportation and infrastructure network, natural resources, potential land uses and economic conditions provide background for a land use plan and greenway and open space network. A unique aspect of the corridors plan includes an agricultural tourism and commerce district. This district preserves and enhances some of the rural charm of Portland while encouraging a distinct destination place with the potential to draw a regional commerce.
